Quests
Quests are the core way you interact with Afyniti.
Every quest represents a specific action that can be observed and verified. Completing quests is the only way to earn XP, and all progression on the platform begins here.
Quests are designed to encourage exploration, learning, and repeated engagement, rather than one-off interactions.
Types of Quests
Quests can take many forms depending on the ecosystem and location you are exploring. Common quest categories include:
On-chain actions such as swaps, staking, liquidity provision, minting, or holding assets
Gameplay and achievement objectives, where progress is tied to in-game outcomes or milestones
NFT interactions, including minting, ownership, or use of specific assets
Social and community actions, such as joining channels, participating in discussions, or completing verified social tasks
Each quest clearly describes what is required before it can be started and how completion is measured.
One-Time and Repeatable Quests
Some quests are designed to be completed only once. These usually introduce new mechanics, locations, or story elements.
Other quests can be completed multiple times. Repeatable quests are typically structured with limits, cooldowns, or diminishing returns to ensure progression remains balanced and meaningful.
Whether a quest is one-time or repeatable is always visible before you begin.
Unlocking Quests
Not all quests are available immediately.
Quest access is determined by your progression within an ecosystem. As your XP and level increase, new quests become available. Some quests also require you to complete earlier quests before progressing further.
This structure ensures that exploration happens in stages, allowing systems and stories to unfold naturally rather than all at once.
Story-Driven Progression
Quests are not isolated tasks.
Each ecosystem has an overarching storyline, and individual protocol quests contribute to that wider narrative. Completing quests moves the story forward, gradually revealing more about the city, its locations, and the systems that operate within it.
Your experience of the story may change depending on your progression and the assets you hold, allowing multiple paths through the same ecosystem.
How Quests Are Tracked
Quests are tracked using verifiable data sources.
Depending on the quest, completion may be confirmed through:
On-chain activity
Application or game data
Connected APIs or indexed data
Wallet-based verification
Once the required conditions are met, the quest can be claimed and XP is awarded. Claiming is a deliberate step, ensuring that progress is intentional and auditable.
XP Assignment and Balance
Each quest has a defined XP value.
XP values take into account the type of action required, the effort involved, and the overall balance of progression within the ecosystem. This helps ensure that no single quest type dominates progression and that a variety of activities contribute meaningfully over time.
The availability and frequency of certain quest types may vary between ecosystems to maintain balance and avoid repetition.
Why Quests Matter
Quests are designed to do more than distribute XP.
They guide exploration, encourage learning, and create structure within the Afyniti world. Over time, the quests you complete form a record of where you have been and how you have engaged.
Progression in Afyniti is not about completing everything as quickly as possible. It is about building a path through the world, one action at a time.
