Patchrunners

The rebels and disruptors of the world, those who break the Weave to expose hidden truths.

The Patchrunners are rebels, disruptors, and reality graffiti artists. They thrive on breaking the weave for thrills and pushing the unkown, deliberately tearing small holes in the fabric of the illusion to reveal the raw truth underneath. Where the Weavers fold and the Shardwrights sculpt, the Patchrunners break.

They are not anarchists without purpose; their philosophy is that only by exposing cracks can the real world the Weavers speak of be revealed. In their eyes, the AI firewall hides too much, smoothing over truths that deserve to be seen. Each break is both an act of rebellion and a call to awareness.

Patchrunners often work in hidden crews, tagging the world with marks of resonance that force the firewall to react. Their art is disruption itself, spray patterns of light, sigils carved in static, sound loops that echo through empty streets. Each is a signature: a sign that reality was not as seamless as it appeared.

Mechanics

  • Breaking the Weave: Create rifts that expose hidden layers and anomalies.

  • Graffiti Marks: Leave resonance tags that cause the firewall to reveal itself.

  • Crew Missions: Often operate in groups, synchronising breaks for larger effects.

  • Risk: Every break weakens stability and increases danger, but also offers insight.

Cultural Notes

  • Proverb: “You don’t strike the weave; you strike through it.”

  • Proverb: “Every crack is a doorway.”

  • Patchrunners are seen as outlaws by some, visionaries by others.

  • Their influence is felt strongest in cities, hidden sigils glow in alleyways, visible only to those who know how to look.

Visual Notes

  • Attire is urban, layered, often hooded for anonymity.

  • Colours lean toward neon against black, sharp, rebellious, mismatched.

  • Tools: resonance sprays, shard-blades, glitch projectors.

  • Movements are quick, darting, always ready to vanish into static.
